Finding Home and Inspiration

A Journey from Massachusetts to Alaska

Hey there! I'm a born-and-raised Massachusetts kid with a wild adventure to share. Growing up, life was all about family, laughter, and the occasional sibling rivalry.

I’ve always been close with both of my siblings. They live back east but love to visit Alaska!

But as I hit college age, I packed my bags and headed west to sunny California, trading the East Coast hustle for the laid-back vibes of Santa Barbara. There, I dove into Geography and Global Development studies, soaking up knowledge like a sponge. After graduation, I found myself knee-deep in the world of environmental education, spreading the gospel of Mother Nature to eager minds across California. It was fulfilling work, but my thirst for learning and exploration wasn't quenched just yet.

Fast forward to grad school in Seattle. While buried in books and papers, I caught wind of a summer gig up in Alaska. Intrigued by the promise of rugged landscapes and wild adventures, I jumped at the chance. Those summer stints turned into a full-blown love affair with Alaska's untamed beauty.

By 2011, I was fully committed to the Last Frontier. Alaska wasn't just a place I visited anymore; it was home. Surrounded by towering mountains and endless wilderness, I felt more alive than ever before. And let me tell you, Alaska isn't just a place—it's a way of life.

One of my first hiking trips out into Denali National Park. The place I now call home.

Living in Alaska didn't just change my address; it changed my perspective. The stunning scenery became my muse, inspiring me to pick up a paintbrush and camera. From capturing the dance of the Northern Lights to immortalizing the majesty of Denali on canvas, Alaska fueled my artistic soul in ways I never thought possible.

So, there you have it—a kid from Massachusetts who found his heart in Alaska. It's been a wild ride from coast to coast, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Alaska has a way of grabbing hold of your soul and never letting go. And me? Well, I'm just along for the adventure.
